$3 per square foot for a traditional water-wise landscape (shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses, mulch). If you prefer to replace your lawn with native or low-water grass rather than a full xeriscape, a separate rate of $0.50/sq ft applies — this calculator shows the $3 rate. 500 square feet of healthy, well-maintained, irrigated bluegrass. The lawn must be in good condition — areas dominated by bare patches, barren soil, or weeds do not qualify.
Spring window: March 1 – July 1 (install by October 15). Fall window: August 1 – September 1 (install by July 31 of the following year). Multi-year phasing is allowed.
If your rebate is $600 or more, yes — it's considered taxable income. You'll submit a W-9 with your application and receive a 1099 from Aurora Water.
Yes. Aurora Water explicitly allows multi-year phased projects, so you can apply for separate sections of your yard in different application cycles.
Yes. Aurora Water staff will visit your property to measure and confirm the rebate-eligible area before issuing written approval. The size they record is what your rebate is based on.
